UWIRE is a college-based media company that covers college news, sports, music, and fashion at over a hundred schools around the country. This is a great opportunity for any aspiring journalist, but it will require a commitment from any student intern. Essentially, we ask interns cover all major Louisville home sporting events (ie. football, basketball, any other sports you deem necessary), as well as doing unique video feature pieces on players, traditions, facilities, etc. Along with sports, student interns may be asked to cover any breaking news and campus events going on in and near Louisvile. Overall, interns are asked for a MINIMUM commitment of 2-3 video stories per week. These videos will be posted on our site (you can check it out at uwirevideo.com), as well as a few other prominent destinations. We are working closely with Fox News Channel, for example, and consistently have student content on both the channel, as well as foxnews.com. Also, we are beginning a relationship with ESPNU, which will result in many opportunities with Campus Connection during the next school year. Finally, in addition to all the great opportunities for national exposure, this is a paid internship, which we all know is rare for broadcast journalists.
