NEW YORK MEDIA INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The prestigious International Radio and Television Society summer fellowship program is now accepting applications. The IRTS Summer Fellowship Program teaches up-and-coming communicators the realities of the media industry and business world through a nine-week , expense-paid fellowship , which includes practical experience and career-planning advice. Fellows gain full-time, "real world" experience at New York-based media companies. In addition, the Fellowship provides the opportunity to network with industry professionals, take related field trips, and attend panels, lectures and group discussions.
The Summer Fellowship Program is competitive. Students receiving fellowships are provided travel, housing, and living allowances. Students must be college juniors, seniors or graduate students at the time of application. Information can also be found on the IRTS Broadcast Sales Associate Program, which is held in tandem with the Summer Fellowship Program. SUMMER SEMINAR/INTERNSHIPS IN GERMANY
Freie Universität Berlin and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are pleased to announce the third year of an intensive scholarship-supported summer seminar/internship program in Berlin for American journalism and communications students. The program is targeted primarily at currently enrolled undergraduate
students, but a limited number of graduating seniors, recent graduates
and Master's students may be accepted as well. Participants study German culture, tour the country, and then work in internships with German media outlets near Berlin.
Applicants must have at least "advanced intermediate" German skills to take part in the program, as the seminars and internships take place in the German language. Program participants receive a month stipend and a partial travel subsidy. The application deadline is January 31, 2009.
