Miami of Ohio Debate Tournament
Louisville, KY (January 16, 2007) — On Friday, January 12, 2007, two teams from University of Louisville's Malcolm X Debate Society traveled to their first tournament of the semester at Miami of Ohio, which was held through Monday, January 15th. Rosie Washington and Ebony Rose finished at 2:6, and Rosie was the 2nd individual speaker out of 64 total speakers participating.
Brian Huot and Aaron Price came in 5:3 in the preliminaries and were seeded 10th after preliminaries. They lost a 2-1 decision to the 7th seed from Wayne State in the first round of octa-finals.
The two teams are traveling to the University of West Georgia for their next tournament from January 19-21, while the novice team of Lavon Clark and Marian Kennedy will travel to the Harriet Tubman debates in Baltimore, MD, where they will compete January 19-22.
